Terms of Service
Last updated October 15, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Lumen (“Lumen”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Lumen client, the Lumen launcher, license keys, the Lumen Discord bot and the website at getlumen.cc (together, “the Service”). By downloading, installing or using the Service, or by claiming or redeeming a key, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Who can use Lumen
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to them for you. You may not use the Service if you are barred from receiving it under the laws that apply to you.
Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft
Lumen is an independent, third-party program. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Mojang Studios or Microsoft. “Minecraft” is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB. Any other names, logos or servers mentioned on the site belong to their owners.
Your responsibility for how you use Lumen
You are responsible for reading and following the rules of every game, service and server you play on. We do not encourage breaking any server’s rules, and we are not responsible for any action a game, platform or server owner takes against you, including bans, lost progress, lost items or lost purchases.
License keys
Lumen runs with a license key. Keys come from our Discord, either as free trials or as premium keys.
- A key grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for the key’s duration. You do not own the software.
- A key is tied to one PC at a time. The launcher identifies the PC with hashed hardware identifiers, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- A key’s time counts down from when it is redeemed, whether or not you are playing.
- You may not share, resell, trade, publish or give away your key, or let anyone else use it, unless you are an authorized reseller selling keys we issued to you for resale.
- Trial keys and the trial program can be changed, limited or ended at any time.
What you may not do
You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:
- crack, patch, disable, bypass or tamper with the license check, key binding, update signing or any other protection in the Service;
- decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, dump or extract the client or launcher, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction;
- copy, redistribute, rehost, mirror or sell the Service or any part of it;
- attack, overload, scrape or probe the Lumen servers, website or Discord bot, or get around their rate limits;
- use the Service to harass people, distribute malware, or commit any illegal act;
- create accounts or claim keys in bulk, or use automation to farm trial keys.
Third-party services
The client can reach third-party services, such as Spotify or player statistics on public servers, when you turn on the feature that uses them. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Updates
The launcher updates itself and the client automatically, and some versions stop working once a newer one is required. We may add, change or remove features at any time, and a feature that works today may not work after a Minecraft update.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or revoke a key, end a session, or ban a PC from the Service, without notice and without a refund, if we reasonably believe you broke these terms. This includes sharing or reselling a key, tampering with the Service, chargebacks, or abusing the trial program. You can stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it.
The sections on your responsibility, restrictions, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity continue to apply after your access ends.
Payments and refunds
Premium keys are sold through authorized resellers, who take payment and handle refunds under their own terms. The Refund Policy explains how that works and when we support a refund. Each reseller’s own terms also apply to your purchase.
No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not promise that Lumen will be undetected by any anti-cheat, will work with any server, or will keep working after a game update.
Antivirus software may flag Lumen because it loads itself into another program. That is expected for this kind of software; the decision to add an exception is yours.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Lumen and the people who make it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of accounts, data, game items, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service, even if we were told such damage was possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 3 months before the claim, or 10 US dollars.
Some places do not allow some of these limits. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law permits.
Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold Lumen harmless from any claim, loss or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these terms, or your breach of any game’s, platform’s or server’s rules.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will announce it in our Discord. Using the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
